Corner Brook: Planning Together is a project to review and update the City of Corner Brook’s Integrated Municipal Sustainability Plan and Development Regulations. Over the next year, the City will be working to develop a Plan to guide growth and development in Corner Brook through a collective vision of the future.

The Integrated Municipal Sustainability Plan, or “IMSP”, is the primary land use planning document for the City that establishes the vision, goals and policies for growth in Corner Brook. These policies are implemented through the Development Regulations which contains the regulations and legal requirements that must be satisfied before development can be undertaken. Together, the IMSP and Development Regulations shape our cities and communities by determining what types of development can happen where.

The City of Corner Brook has contracted UPLAND Planning + Design Studio to review and update Corner Brook’s Integrated Municipal Sustainability Plan and Development Regulations. UPLAND Planning + Design Studio will be working closely with the City and the community to explore and develop strategies to address key themes such as:

• Active transportation

• The environment

• Climate change mitigation and adaptation

• Urban agriculture

• Renewable energy

• Housing and residential development

• Commercial and industrial development

• And many others.
